extraordinary weddings

My friend, artist extraordinaire and creative genius Michael Beneville, with whom I’ve collaborated on many projects in the past, was getting married and asked if I’d lend a hand. Obviously I was delighted to help him since we’ve had so much fun collaborating together over the years. We have many of the same friends and I wanted Michael’s wedding to be everything he and his gorgeous bride Kimberly always dreamed.
We held the wedding at a mutual friend’s home in the Hamptons, with a gorgeous garden and rolling lawns. We added a touch of drama with an arch festooned with flowers. Crystals hung from the arch, sparkling in the light of the afternoon sun. Rosé champagne and delicious appetizers awaited the guests after the ceremony ended. A billowing tent lit with Chinese lanterns and decorated with sumptuous flowers was the perfect setting for a fantastic meal. Hundreds of candles created a romantic atmosphere. After dinner, Donna D’Cruz kept the party going all night, playing a fantastic array of songs from '70s classics to Europe’s hottest techno beats.
From the food, the music, the flowers, and the energy in the room, the party was fantastic. There were times when I don’t think a single person was left off the dance floor. When I looked around at the tables, literally everyone was up on their feet, dancing and having a good time, including the bride’s 86-year-old grandmother. We certainly danced late into the night, and it wasn’t until the neighbors complained and the police arrived that the music was turned down and an endless flow of champagne seemed to stop.
