KARA ROSS NEW YORK, LLC

It’s funny how you meet people and connect. That’s what happened with I met Kara many years back. We clicked right away and had a few laughs together but never really stayed in touch. We would see each other here and there but it wasn’t until a few years later that I found out she designed jewelry. I came across her pieces in a publication called Vivre, which is owned by a close friend of mine Eva Lorenzotti, definitely one of the most stylish women I’ve ever met. Vivre is a curated catalogue of all things fabulous and seeing Kara’s pieces in there was certainly a surprise only because I never knew she was so talented.

Each piece in her collection is elegant, feminine, sexy and unique. She uses woods and gemstones mixed with metals and leathers to create gorgeous cuffs, rings, handbags, necklaces, bracelets and fashion objects of art. I’ve been following her for a few years now and each collection is stunning. She creates three collections a year and from the looks of them it’s obvious she finds beauty and inspiration from her surroundings and her travels. She has the gift of crafting beautiful things.

Kara Ross' Tips:

  • At Work: Keep things simple. I like to accessories with exotic skins and gemstones. While this might not seem simple at all, it is quite easy to pull off. A gold shirt cuff with purple python and a small amethyst stone will add color to any outfit while still looking refined.
  • For a girls night out: Go big and bright for a night out on the town with your girls. This is a chance for you to have fun and play around with your accessories. I love wearing the bright colored pebble necklaces from my Kara by Kara Ross line. They are both big and bright!
  • For a Formal Event: Get unique. Rare gemstones are the perfect way to do this. I prefer one of a kind pieces with unique gems mixed in with more traditional aspects such as hints of gold or diamond accents. Being a gemologist I prefer the focus to be on the stone itself.
  • Poolside or Beachfront: Whether you are lounging by the pool or on the beach go for something bright that you can wear in and out of the water. Resin and enamel jewelry is perfect! I also like to play around with beach themes such as coral and starfish cuffs, so even poolside I can have a little piece of paradise!
  • Traveling: Versatility is key. Packing jewelry you can wear with multiple outfits not only keeps your luggage light but also saves time getting ready, allowing you more time on the beach or exploring the city. Plus, you can always buy unique jewelry to bring home from exotic locations.
